Carved Ming Screen, Warm Elm d70 This square shaped warm elmThe lattice design in the upper panels of this beautiful warm elm screen, made up of individual pieces of wood fitted together with mortis and tenon joints, dates back to Ming dynasty China. The bottom panels are in rattan fitted over wood. The screen panels are based on similar original ones that would form the interior windows or doors of a Chinese house.
